I'm busy (making statements)

ENG: For Spring 2014 some designers showed sweaters and shirts with statements. The sheer sweatshirts at Alexander Wang had "Parental Advisory. Explicit content" written across the chest, Vivienne Westwood and Kenzo headed in a political direction and used their spring /summer 2014 collection to make people aware of pollution and overfishing. The statements were more playful at Jeremy Scott ("I'm a mess) and Ashish, who obviously found inspiration in Coca Cola.

Since I already developed a weakness for statement beanies (here and here) and Shirts (here), I had no problems to appreciate this new trend. I found this mesh sweater with "I'm busy" logo on sale at H&M and prefer to wear it to work so I can show my employer, that I'm always hardworking ;)

And what statements do you make with your clothes?

DE: Für Frühjahr 2014 zeigten einige Designer Oberteile mit Statementsprüchen. Die transparenten Sweatshirts bei Alexander Wang waren im Brustbereich mit "Parental Advisory. Explicit content" beschriftet,Vivienne Westwood und Kenzo nutzen ihre Frühjahr / Sommer 2014 Kollektion, um die Menschen auf Umweltverschutzung und Überfischung aufmerksam zu machen. Ich habe bereits eine Schwäche für Aussagekräftige Beanies (hier und hier) und Shirts (hier) entwickelt, da fällt es mir natürlich sehr leicht mich auch mit diesem Trend anzufreunden. Den Meshpullover mit "I'm busy" Schriftzug, habe ich bei H&M im Schlussverkauf ergattert und trage ihn am liebesten zur Arbeit, wo er meinen Arbeitgeber mitteilt, dass ich stets fleißig am arbeiten bin ;)

ENG: Fashion from the catwalk lies not in a student's budget and that's why I am happy there are shope like Cubus and online shops like Choies, where you can find pieces inspired by designers for affordable prices. I fell in love with the daisy print from Prada's Spring collection and when I discovered the two piece suit from Choies with a similar print I had to get it. Now I just need daisies sunglasses to complete my look.

As I am talking about copying looks: Check out Game of Style. For a month a blogger will make out an outfit each week, which 5 blogger must copy. Ever sunday one has to leave the game. Today round 2 started and I am still in.

DE: Mode vom Laufsteg liegt definitiv nicht im Budgetbereich einer Studentin und deswegen bin ich froh, dass es Geschäfte wie Cubus und Onlineshops wie Choies gibt, bei denen man von den Designern inspierierte Teile zu günstigen Preisen bekommt. Ich habe mich zum Beispiel sehr in die Gänseblumchenprints von Prada aus der Frühlingskollektion 2013 verliebt. Als ich dann die Top und Shorts Kombi bei Choies mit ähnlichem Muster entdeckte, musste ich einfach zuschlagen. Jetzt fehlt mir nur noch eine Gänseblümchenbrille, um den Look zu vervollständigen.

Wo ich gerade dabei bin über kopierte Looks zu sprechen: schaut mal bei Game of Style vorbei. Einen Monat lang gibt eine Bloggerin jeden Montag ein Ouftfit vor, welches fünf weitere Blogger nachstylen sollen. Sonntags fliegt immer eine raus. ENG: What do Sarah Jessica Parker, Kanye West, Alice Dellal, Milla Jovovich, Anna Wintour and Yoko Ono have in common?

You don’t know? Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to find something .

Karl has worked with Carine Roitfeld and launched a book about the little black jacket:

‘The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’S classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld’.

He was the photographer, Carine did the styling and 109 celebrities and people with personality played model. Every person wears the black jacket, but it is styled different on each one and so giving a new view on the jacket or more the wearer and his or her character itself.

Those amazing black and white photographs give an impression of how one piece of clothing can look so different depending on the styling and the person wearing it.

There are a few exhibitions to come in some big cities like Tokyo, Paris or Berlin.

Those who don’t have the option to see it displayed in a museum, have to take a look at the website created especially for the little black jacket.

You will find all the exhibition dates, backstage material and - now comes the best part - you can see all the photographs online. It is called E-experience and lets you browse and look through every photo.

Karl hat mit Carine Roitfeld ein Buch über das kleine schwarze... Jäckchen herausgebracht: ‘The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’S classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld’.

Er war der Fotograf und Carine stylte die 109 Stars  und Menschen mit Persönlichkeit, die Model standen. Jede von diesen Personen, trägt das kleine, schwarze Chanel Jäckchen. Dabei ist es bei jedem anderes gestylt und zeigt so neue Perspektiven auf die Jacke und den Träger selbst.

Die wunderschönen schwarz-weiß Fotos zeigen wie ein Kleidungsstück jedes Mal anderes aussehen und wirken kann, je nachdem wer es wie trägt.

Es wird ein paar Ausstellungen in Tokyo, Paris geben. Momentan wird in Berlin ausgestellt. Die unter euch, die nicht hinfahren können, haben die Möglichkeit alle Bilder auf der Website der little black jacket anzusehen. Zudem findet ihr Backstage-Material, Making-of-Videos und natürlich alle Bilder, die auch im Buch bzw. der Ausstellung gezeigt werden.

Preppy Girls Society

Seit 2 Tagen hab ich wieder Uni. Bisher ganz entspannt. Nur Kursvorstellungen. Erst nächste Woche geht es richtig los. Das Wetter verschönert den Semesteranfang auch nochmal. Ich hoffe das bleibt eine Weile so. Dieses Outfit stammt noch aus kühleren Tagen. Das Shirt besitze ich schon Ewigkeiten und krame es immerwieder mal hervor. Der schlichte schwarze Rock gehört zu meinen Lieblingsbasics im Moment. Den trage ich zur Zeit am liebsten. Die Schuhe und den Schmuck habe ich von meinem Freund bekommen. Ich mag die Herzchenkette, die man öffnen kann sehr gerne.

ENG: For 2 days I got Uni again. So far, very relaxed. Only course subscribings. Next weekthe fun will begin. The weather also brightens up the beginning of the semester. I hope that it will last for a while that way.This outfit is dating back to cooler days.

I already own this shirt for ages and get back to it constantly from time to time. The simpleblack skirt is one of my favorite basics at the moment. I'm wearing it quite often lately.The shoes andthe jewelry are from my friend. I love the necklaxe, which you can open.

A little bit retro

Ich hab nochmal die Leiter als Requisite genutzt, weil es mir beim ersten Mal schon Spaß gemacht hat damit Fotos zu machen (versucht Mal eine Leiter mit Pumps hoch zu steigen ... und dann auch wieder runter. Nicht so ganz einfach, wenn die alte Leiter so wacklig ist). Ich finde diese Leiter trotzdem einfach toll. Sie sieht so toll Retro aus :) Ich glaub ich geb die meinem Nachbarn nicht mehr wieder. Das Kleid finde ich ebenfalls total Retro und man fühlt sich wie aus den 50er Jahren entsprungen.

ENG: I used again the ladder as a prop, because it was such a fun to pose with it the first time (try to climb a ladder with high-heels... and then try to descent. Not so easy when the old ladder is trembling all the time). Still I love the ladder. Looks so retro :)  I think my neighbour won't get it back. The dress looks retro too and it feels like you're sprung out straight from the 50ies.
