Nerd from another galaxy

ENG: I must confess, that I am a fan of sciene-fiction movies and that I really like Star Wars. I found the R2D2 and C-3PO leggings online, I instantly ordered them.  It seems that I hit the mark, for a few designers, showed that they are excited for the 7. Star Wars movie to be shown in the cinemas in december 2015, too. One of those designers is Rodarte, whos fall / winter 2014 collection featured prints with jedis and droids on floor length dresses. In London the Preen designers showed Darth Vader prints and thus proved, that they are attracted to the powers of the dark side. Although all the Star Wars looks, were more shared on Twitter and Instagram during Fashion Week, than all the other looks from those two shows shows, you need to look at it with a bit of humor and irony. Still I want to show you an everyday version of a Star Wars print look. Are there any hidden nerds among you too?

DE: Ich muss euch gestehen, dass ich ein Fan von Sciene-Fiction Filmen bin. Die Star Wars Reihe gehört ebenfalls zu den Filmen, die ich mir immer wieder gerne ansehe. Als ich dann irgendwann Online eine Leggings mit R2D2 und C-3PO Print entdeckt habe, landete diese gleich in meinem virtuellen Warenkorb. Und damit scheine ich richtig ins Schwarze getroffen zu haben, denn auf den Modenschauen für Herbst 2014 zeigten auch zwei Designer, dass sie voller Vorfreude auf den 7. Star Wars Film warten, der im Dezember 2015 erscheinen soll. Einer dieser Designer ist Rodarte. Bei der, in New York präsentierten Herbst /Winter 2014 Kollektion, sah man Jedi-Ritter, Yoda und Droiden auf bodenlangen Kleidern. In London zeigten die Designer des Labels Preen mit Darth Vader Aufdrucken, dass sie von der dunklen Seite der Macht angezogen werden. Obwohl diese Looks bei der Fashion Week bei beiden Shows häufiger als alle anderen gezeigten Outfits getwittert und auf Instagram geteilt wurden, sollte man diese Looks mit viel Humor und etwas Ironie betrachten. Ich zeige euch dennoch ein Version für den Alltag. Gibt es unter euch denn auch irgendwelche heimlichen Nerds?

Romantic anonymous

ENG: In a few days is valentine's day. This means, that many women expect their beloved to think of it and honor the day at least with a bunch of flowers. I don't number myself among those women. The only reason I think of valentine's day is, because it is my friend's birthday. I really don't know what I should do with roses or other flowers, watching romantic comedies is hard, because I have to roll my eyes, when I hear those tacky dialogues. My best valentine's day date was at a chamber of horrors. Scary fun instead of  the standard candle light dinner. 

That's why in the video I'm not showing you a typical look for a date, but an outfit I would also wear on every other day of the year.

If you think, that I'am bitter single, who is frustrated, because of all the happy couples around me, I must say you are wrong. I am in a relationship for 6 years now and it is going well without cheesy romantic. But It could also be, that I'm an anonymous romantic girl, haven't yet admitted it even to myself and prefer to go to a chamber of horror on valentine's day, so I can cling to my boyfriend in the darkness and hope no one will notice, that there is a tiny little piece of romantic hidden deep inside me ;)

DE: In wenigen Tagen ist Valentinstag. Das heißt viele Frauen erwarten, dass ihr Liebster, dem Tag der Verliebten; zumindest mit einem Strauß Blumen gedenkt. Ich zähle mich nicht zu dieser Gruppe von Frauen. An den Valentinstag denke ich nur, weil eine Freundin von mir an diesem Tag Geburtstag hat. Mit Rosen oder anderen Blumen weiß ich nichts anzufangen, romantische Liebeskomödien kann ich mir nicht ansehen,weil es anstrengend ist, bei den vielen kitschigen Dialogen permanent die Augen zu verdrehen. Mein bestes Valentintagsdate war ein Besuch im Gruselkabinett Hamburg Dungeon. Gruselspaß statt Candle Light Dinner und das typische 08/15 Programm.

Deswegen zeige ich euch im Video auch keinen typischen Valentinstags Look für ein romantische Verabredung, sondern ein Outfit, welches ich auch an jedem anderen Tag tragen würde.

Wenn ihr jetzt denkt, dass so eine Einstellung typisch für einen verbitterten Single ist, der es Leid ist, all die glücklich verliebten Pärchen um sich herum zu sehen, irrt ihr euch. Ich bin seit 6 Jahren in einer Beziehung und es läuft auch ohne kitschige Romantik gut. Es könnte aber auch sein, dass ich eine anonyme Romantikerin bin, es mir selbst noch nicht eingestanden habe und am Valentinstag ins Gruselkabinett gehe,um mich in der Dunkelheit, unter dem Vorwand Angst zu haben, an meinen Freund schmiege, und hoffe, dass keiner mitkriegt, dass irgendwo tief in mir drin doch eine klitzekleine Romantikerin schlummert ;)

Autumn blues

ENG: Everybody knows the winter blues, but this year we already start with the blues in autumn. Chanel, Kenzo, Missoni and Valentino showed us in their autumn 2013 collections, that blue doesn't look depressing at all. It looks the best if the shade cobalt blue is worn from head to toe. If  this is too much for you guys, you can try a mix of black and blue. Some time ago this was labeled as No-Go by the fashion folk, it was now shown by designers like Chloe, Michael Kors and Issey Miyake on the catwalks.

My look covers even another latest trend: plaid - blue tartan is a great alternative to all the red plaid, you can spot now everywhere.

DE: Der Winter blues ist ja allgemein bekannt, doch dieses Jahr fangen wir schon im Herbst mit dem blues an. Chanel, Kenzo, Missoni und Valentino haben uns in ihren  Herbst 2013 Kollektionen gezeigt, dass Blau ganz und gar nicht deprimierend wirkt. Am schönsten wirkt es im Farbton Kobaltblau und zwar von Kopf bis Fuß. Wem das zu viel ist, kann es mit einer Kombination aus Schwarz und Blau probieren. Vor einiger Zeit vom Modevolk noch als No-Go abgestempelt, wurde dies nun von Designern wie Chloe, Michael Kors und Issey Miyake auf den Laufstegen gezeigt. 

Bei meinem Look gibt es sogar noch einen zweiten aktuellen trend: Karo - Blauer Tartan ist eine gute Alternative zu all den roten Karos, die man momentan überall sieht.

Grey Mohito

ENG: Living in Trenchcoat-City Hamburg and not owing a single one is almost a crime. I was searching a perfect one for me for a long time. The problem was to find a color I like. Black was too boring, navy to plain and beige too classic. Finally I found this one in Poland in a shop called Mohito. The light grey coat with shiny fabric and silver zipper details is exactly what I was looking for.

By the way, was this was my outfit for Sunday at FashionWeek Poland.

DE: Wenn man in einer Trenchcoat-Stadt wie Hamburg lebt, ist es schon fast ein Verbrechen, keinen zu besitzen. Ich habe mich lange nach einem passenden für mich umgesehen, aber das Problem war immer die Farbe. Schwarz ist mir zu langweilig, beige zu klassisch und Marineblau zu unscheinbar. In Polen habe ich dann bei Mohito diesen grauen Mantel mit leichtem Glanz und silbernen Zippern gefunden. Genau danach habe ich gesucht. Dies war übrigens mein sonntags Outfit für die Fashion Week Poland.

Designer Avenue & OFF day 2 / FashionPhilosophy FW Poland

OFF Out of schedule - The OFF shows are really interesting, because the young designers talents always come up with something new. 

Dominika Cybulska - This collection held in natural shades like brown and grey was inspired by the simple life of Bedouins.

Thunder Blond - The collections contained too many projects that it had three parts, which are united by the symbols printed on the garments. All outfits were completed with different headaccessoires. All in all a very outstanding and fierce collection.

Designer Avenue

Nicknack - I liked that collection, though it was rather minimalist and the colors were limited to white and shades of cream and browns. One thing I didn't like about it: the fur details.

Tamaotomo - The main accent of this collection were the accented shoulders and the mix of fabrics. The projects were good, but I would love to see a higher variety of silhouettes.

Orsay - The official sponsor of FW Poland, presented the Fall /Winter 2013 collection, which was surprisingly good. Although inspired by the baroque era, the looks were really elegant and modern.

Mojito - During my week in Poland I visited a Mohito shop or the first time and I fell in love with it. So I was excited to see the show and I was great: Black, white and electric blue plus geometric patterns. So all trends covered.

Lukasz Jemiol Basic - The basic collection was really ... Basic. I mean the projects were good and I would probably wear some of them. Still something was missing. A touch of haute couture for example. I don't think basics necessarily belong on the catwalk and I hope to see Lukasz Jemiol instead of Lukasz Jemiol Basic next time.
